Who You Actually Are

The shelf has a story about you. It says you're past your peak. That your best contribution is behind you. That the world has moved on and you're still catching up.

That story is a lie. And we're done letting it go unanswered.

Here's what God says about where we are and who we are.

"Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness." (Proverbs 16:31)

"The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old." (Proverbs 20:29)

"They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green." (Psalm 92:14)

"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you." (Isaiah 46:4)

Not past it. Not finished. Not waiting for the end. Sustained, splendorous, and still bearing fruit.

That's the biblical picture. Now here's ours.

We are the Kingdom Boomers.

We are not done. We are not obsolete. We are not waiting to die.

We have lived long enough to know what matters and what doesn't. We have survived enough to know that God is faithful. We have failed enough to know that grace is real.

We got off the shelf. And we're not going back.

We refuse to believe our best days are behind us.

We refuse to accept that our wisdom has an expiration date.

We refuse to let the culture write our final chapter.

We have scars that became stories and stories that became wisdom.

We have buried dreams we are ready to dig up.

We have watched the young struggle with things we already figured out.

We know things that cannot be Googled.

We are not intimidated by what we don't know — we've learned harder things.

We are still hearing from God — and He still has things to say through us.

We are not looking for permission to matter.

We are done being invisible.

We are done being polite about being sidelined.

We are ready to find our people.

We are ready to pass what we carry to the generation coming behind us.

We are ready to dream again.

We are Kingdom Boomers. We are off the shelf and back in the game.

This declaration isn't theoretical. I'm the Kingdom Boomer who got off the shelf.

Practical Kingdom Living. Practical Heart Care. Practical Hearing God. Finding Kin. Find Your What. All of it — every site, every tool, every word — grew out of me refusing to accept that the shelf was the end of my story.

I'll tell you the whole story in a bit. But I want you to know right now: this isn't something I built from a distance. I lived my way into it.

And I think you're here because you're ready to live your way out of yours.
